By Ciaran McConville Edinburgh Fringe 2002
Arthur Penman is a nobody. He works as a clerk for the reputable firm of Singleton, Drab & Gray. Everyday he commutes to and from work. People walk past him without knowing he exists. But one evening he returns home from work to find a beautiful woman waiting for him….
Ciaran McConville’s modern fairytale was The Sunday Times Critic’s Choice when it received its world premiere at the Edinburgh Festival this year, performed entirely by a cast of newly trained actors.
‘A beautiful and haunting parable about art, love and the power of the imagination.. Funny, touching and riotously inventive.’ The Irish Post
