Jim Cartwright Young Vic Studio / Edinburgh Fringe 2002 Cartwright's classic comedy performed at the Young Vic Studio, London, before touring to Edinburgh for the festival. In a northern pub, the landlord and landlady bicker furiously as they preside over their haphazard collection of regulars --all 14 characters performed by two resilient and exhausted actors! 'If a pub is a microcosm of life, then this play does its best to reveal the full spectrum of quirkiness and passion available therein. The performances were excellent, with just the right blend of drama and humour.' Three Weeks |
